A Little Bit About the Manchester Section...

We are one of the newer sections of GMC. We are based in Manchester/ Londonderry, but have members from about a 40 mile radius, both full time residents and second home owners as well as other visitors.

We maintain the Long Trail from Rt 11/30 over Bromley Mountain to Mad Tom Notch and over Styles and Peru Peaks to Griffith Lake. We are lucky to have some committed young volunteers in the Londonderry Girl Scouts, the Mountain School fifth and sixth grades, and the Target Program at Burr Burton Academy who come out and do trail work with us twice a year.

We plan two pot luck suppers, one in the fall and one in the spring, at which we plan out work trips and hikes and snow trips. We welcome anyone who would like to join us for these trips, whether they are GMC members or not. However, we encourage anyone who is interested in the Long Trail, whether they want to do work trips, hike or in some other way help the cause, to join the GMC. Your membership dues help to pay for the all things that cannot be done by volunteers alone as well as procuring goods and services beyond the reach of the generous donations the club recieves.
